Hanuman Langur (Semnopithecus entellus)

A very common species in India, and no exception in Corbett National Park, yet common does not mean to be ignored as there are many situations that are special and memorable.

This male was crossing close to us in confidence and sat down by a tree very nearby to assert its position as leader as well as looking for any opportunities.

Many find its resemblance to elderly, bearded human males striking!

Also called grey langur.

Elevation: 288 meters
