Golden langur (Trachypithecus geei)

This mother and her very young offspring were winding down as the light of the setting sun was fading.

I encountered this group as I too was winding down – heading back to my hotel after an eventful day. It was a great joy to see every group of golden langurs I encountered in Bhutan had newborns – this is after all an endangered species.

The safest place is with mum for now, but soon these young ones will be exploring more on their own and also team up with the others their own age and find their individual place in the group dynamics.
