Socotra Star-Chestnut (Sterculia africana socotrana) is one of the largest of all tree species on Socotra. They are usually found standing alone, so this is nice exception.

Native range is Northeast Tropical Africa, Tanzania to Namibia, South Arabian Peninsula, socotrana variety is endemic to Socotra.
