Striga gesnerioides is a very peculiar plant! It pops up from the ground like aspargus, but with beautiful flowers!
I only found two groups of this species, and that was around the Detwah lagoon of west Socotra. The other was eaten by goats!
Native range is Africa, Arabia, Pakistan and India .
