The protected areas of Chapada dos Guimaraes National Park is a treasure trove of plant species.
Pekea nut (Caryocar brasiliense) is one of the tallest of the trees here, and during my visit they were all in fruit.
Popular names: Pequi or souari nut.
Native range is Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay.
