Although this toucan species is common, it’s nonetheless stunningly beautiful. It singing in this dead tree, basked in the soft light of the setting sun does not make it any less beautiful.
This location is deep inside the property of Pousada Xaraés, and there is no way for a visitor to find the way back to the lodge from here. The dirt road is hardly visible – everything is lush green grass and islands of forests. The guide uses the trees a sign posts, so only when you’ve been around here for years will you recognize where you are.
