Masked Trogon (Trogon personatus)

Trogons are beatiful, but seems to me somewhat lazy. It can sit in one place for a long time – just looking around – seemingly observing. But like all earthly beings, food is one of the top activities. It’s just that the Trogon does it so leisurely.

In this picture a female masked trogon (Trogon personatus) has landed so that a dry and noisy leaf is pressing against it, but it seems oblivious to such trivia. It didn’t bother to move or change position to get clear of it. Perhaps it felt good?

The male.
