Trogons can sometimes be very difficult to see, as they can sit quitely on the same spot for long periods, only slowly moving its head to look for insects or danger.
Ths section was also very dark – the setting sun did not reach here, so I only saw a dark silhouette. As I moved slowly to a better position I saw it had a beak laden with food, and thus a nest close by.
Unfortunately I had to leave, otherwise it would be dark before I would have come out of the forest. From this position it was 1 hour 30 minutes to the road. I so much wanted to see the male, but I guess this female will suffice.
