Mahurea exstipulata subsp. extipulata

After crossing Kukenan river on the way to Roraima, I noticed a bush growing among the boulders by the river. Only a few flowes had opened, and they were poorly placed (high) for a photographer.

I never cut or remove anything I photograph, as I want to photograph nature as it is. I had to bend the branch holding the few opened flowers while shooting, which actually prevented it from swaying in the rather persistent wind.

Native range is the Guyana Shield.
