Habenaria socotrana is the most common of the orchids on Socotra, and is found where there is shade, water seepage and ample periods of moisture. It’s grows in altitudes between 300 to 1400 meters.
It will produce infloresences soon after the winter rains arrive. In this case 22 October 2023 cyclone Tej hit Socotra and since then plenty of showers the following weeks supported a continuous growth period.
Native range is Socotra and North Somalia.
