Commiphora planifrons

This stunted, prostrate and gnarly Commiphora planifrons would have been a tree were it not for the countless goats that eat at them. The long and vibrant shoot looks promising, but will soon be eaten by a goat! Around this specimen there are many just like it, but one individual has for unknown reasons evaded them.

During the dry season you will miss this individual completely as it looks like a rock, and even now with leaves you will have to look carefully to see it.

Elevation: 409 meters.

Endemic.
