The oxbow lake just a few meters from the buildings of the Amazon Research and Conservation Center (ARCC) is an excellent way to get close to flowers on trees and vines that otherwise are out of reach – many meters up towards the canopy.
The lake is open and brings permanent sunlight to the plants that can twist, hang or bend down towards the water and the sunlight, and I can slowly flow by on a float provided by the center and get up close to enjoy the scent and sight of the flowers.
