The Condoriri park was a treasure trove of plant species. I wish I had several days here, as my few hours was far from enough to explore all the incredible miniature plants growing here, including this calandrinia acaulis.
Altitude: 4553 metres.
Native range is Venezuela to Argentina. Mexico Central America .

Thanks again for your ID help Charles!
I must correct my ID: First of all the Family has been changed, it is now called Montiaceae.
Also Mona meridensis seems to be restricted to the paramo Merida in Venezuela and probably Colombia too. In the new list of genera of the Montiaceae this monotypic genus isnt even listed.

Now i think it is Calandrinia acaulis, which has a large distribution from Mexico to Chile

It is also listed in the Plantas Del Parque Nacional Tuni-Condoriri PDF.
Thanks! I was about to get back to you on this one, as I too was wondering when I looked at the pdf, and acaulis there.
So we’re talking about the same species here:?: http://www.ross.no/2012/11/18/altiplano-plant-27-2/
The inflorescence are very reddish in comparison as well as more trunkated – perhaps just natural variance?
