Caiman Lizard (Dracaena Guianensis)

The caiman lizard (Dracaena Guianensis) is a big lizard like this should be easy to spot due to its size (up to 120 cm/4 feet long), but not so.

The only thing that gave it away was the long tail hanging down from the branch it was resting on. It might be easier later in the day though, as this is 07:08 in the morning with very little light.

Its position on the branch was not a random selection, as it will use the water below as an escape route if threatened. It will simply leap off the branch and dive in!
