Roraima heather (Ledothamnus sessiliflorus)

This psecimen grew underneath an outcrop, and in contrast to the guyanensis it was a big and dense specimen competing with other plants.

This one very much resembles the guyanensis, but the flower differs with a lighter/paler red ring around the base of the ovary, whilst this one is all in one red color that lacks this paler red section. The pistil is also shorter on this one. The growth is also smaller than the guyanensis that seems to grow to shurb specimens, opposed to this one that is lower and covers a wider area.

This might be a variation of the guyanensis, so I welcome any corrective input.

Native range is Roraima and surrounding tepuis.
