This group raided the mango trees like there was no tomorrow!

They did not pick at random, though. It was the sense of smell that seemed to seal the fate of any given mango. As you can see in these photos they elaborately held the fruit up close to the nose and inhaled.

For some reason they just took one bite and dropped all the mangos! Some very close to my head! Mangos are quite heavy, so a hit to the head can be real painful!

So why smell, pick and drop? Do they have a bad sense of smell? If not why did they not smell they were not ripe yet?
