A newly described species (2013), and named after where on Socotra it was discovered – Jabal Mtoloh. This is in the central west Socotra. My observations are from the southwest Socotra, near the coast.
Euphorbia mtolohensis may resemble a stubbed or heavily browsed version of the Euphorbia schimperi, but when looking closer you will notice this is its normal growth – dense and never as tall. I encountered two groups, all of them growing new shoots, flowers and fruits as a response to the recent rains.
Elevation: 409 meters.
