When you first see a numberwing butterfly or eighty-eights, you are oblivious to the intricacies of the way the number is the patterns are, and think you see the same species all the time. But not so!
I saw three species alongside the Iguaçu Falls trails on the Brazilian side and this hydaspes eighty-eight (Callicore hydaspes) is the first one.
This railing has trace amount of human sweat which is hard to come by far from the sea, and you can see it’s tongue is busy licking up whatever is there.
