This species is as iconic and well known as the dragon blood tree (Dracaena cinnabari), and every visitor would want a photo of one in bloom, like this one. It is found in enormous numbers, and is far from being threatened.
Like so many other species on Socotra you might find individuals with no flowers or foliage in on locale, yet in full bloom around the corner. A previous rain shower might have drenched one location, and dried up before it reached any further, and thus you will se great variation in their appearance.
Endemic.
