Euphorbia hadramautica

Socotra has a large number of eye-catching species of plants, but there a so many inconspicuous and very small species too, like this one. You have to go down on your knees and slowly move around for the smallest ones. Euphorbia hadramautica is particularly hard to notice when the foliage is withering as is the case here.

Size is one thing, but many are similarly colored to their surroundings and blend in so well that you need to know their preferred habitat. The euphorbia hadramautica most certainly blends in perfectly with the limestone in which it grows.

Elevation: 612 meters.

Native range is Ethiopia, Oman, Socotra, Somalia, Yemen.
