The mighty Dirhur canyon is perhaps most impressive when seen from Dixam. From here you can see the fringes of Firhmin Forest on the other side of the canyon. Firhmin is a forest of dragon blood trees (Dracaena cinnabari) – the only forest on Socotra, and the world. It is a spectacular forest of otherworldly looking trees.
The tree in the foreground is such a dragon blood tree.
