When you first get a glimpse of Dzukou valley you are mesmerized, as it is so different from all the valleys, hills and mountains surrounding it. It is a verdant treasure box.
However, it is not until you go all the way to the valley floor that the floral diversity unfolds, as on the surrounding hills the past fires have cleared what forest were there, and opened the way to very dense growth of few dominant plant species.
In this valley you can enjoy a clear sky, thunder showers and fog as thick as soup within and hour this time of year. One of these thunder showers caughtup with me as I was leaving, and it was intense! A lightning struck too close for comfort, so it was a dramatic end to an amazing time here.
