Pika (Ochotona sp)

This is one of several individuals I encountered roaming around a small area of grassy ground, and it was in and out of this burrow as if playing hide and seek with us.

With a slightly rounded snout it is likely a juvenile. What a cutie!

None of the pikas I encountered here displayed any concern with my presence and were very busy interacting with each other, eating, sniffing the air and doing occasional cleaning of the fur or scratching that itchy spot.

It was fun watching them eating grass, as the initially long leaf went inside with lightning speed as a human would suck in a piece of spaghetti..
