The Himalayan bulbul (Pycnonotus leucogenys) is a bird with lovely simple vocalizations that you hear throughout Bhutan and the Himalayas and is one of 9 species in Bhutan.
You will see this common species on a prayer flag pole, a roof top, on a power line, or in a tree. Out in the open or wherever it prefers it will babble the simple notes throughout the day, and is in a way one of several familiar sounds that together is the heartbeat of Bhutan and the Himalayas.
