Ochradenus socotranus

Linear leaves barely distinguishable unless you get up close.

This was an untouched and healthy specimen growing out of the sheer cliff face, which is key to many species that are otherwise completely stunted due to the incessant grazing of the goats.

There are many imposing cliff faces on the way to Shuab beach of west Socotra, and most of them are home to gorgeous specimens untouched by humans or livestock. This locale is a short climb up from the sea, and there are goat droppings everywhere, but there are outcrops and ledges out of reach for goats and humans as well.
