This African migrant (Catopsilia florella) was the first of many species of butterflies I encountered on Socotra, and here I found at least 6 males of Catopsilia florella. I find the male rather dull compared to the female, but that is my view – the female definitely selects a male with a green hue.
Here it’s finding food in the flowers of the endemic Limonium sokotranum on the Shuab beach of west Socotra.
