Visiting diverse and pristine habitats as that of the Amazon Research and Conservation Center (ARCC) is amazing, but also poses one problem! Nigh and day is equally busy with life, so which of the two do you focus on?

Tapeti (Sylvilagus brasiliensis)

I am not really a morning person, so I should perhaps be up all night here, but with a very limited time I have planned to focus on the diurnal and not the nocturnal.

During the few hours I did stay up – a few times till midnight – I experienced so many interesting animals. One was this nocturnal rabbit that was foraging between the buildings.

Also called forest rabbit.
