During the dry season the water level is low and thus all remaining pools of water and rivers are packed with fish and other life forms providing easy pickings for the Ringed Kingfisher (Megaceryle torquata).
The river flowing through Fazenda San Fransico is deep all year long, and thus harbors a great diversity of life from the smallest to Caiman and Jaguar, and of course lots of kingfishers including the ringed seen here.
