My first night on the Sabana at Kamoiran lodge was a fantastic surprise in butterfly diversity. The walls were crowded with various nocturnal insects drawn in by the artificial light. Some with shapes and colors that truly amazed me. I have not yet been able to classify them, so just numeric by observation for now.
This was the first I saw in daylight the following morning @ 06:06. As it’s resting on the leaf it might be nocturnal, but then again the strong colors suggests a need to alert in visible wavelengths. It might just be waiting to be dried by the sun before it takes off.
Please help me classify it – leave a comment 🙂
