Anaa shell dunes

In the lagoon there are huge deposits of shells in formations similar to what you see in the snowy and windswept mountains in winter. The different ages of shells are like the snow, where the fresh snow is the whitest on top, and here the newest shells are the whitest all the way down to blackish and grey on the bottom of the dunes. Here the dunes are mixed with coral sand, which add yet another layer and shade of white.

Walking on this I was at first worried I would destroy the beautiful formations, but they are incredibly sturdy and compact, and the footprint is hardly noticable compared to what is left behind on sand. Only where sand is dominant will the formation become more unstable.
