With or without flowers, I find this plant really beautiful as it spreads out over the rocks of Socotras highest poeaks. This was one of very few with inflorescences – on the very highest mountain of Socotra – Skant.

Helichrysum rosulatum
This is a younger specimen which at first will grow as a cushion plant, but if undisturbed by goats over many decades it will eventually rise from the ground and slowly become a small bonsai-like tree with a winding trunk – like this:
