On the beach of Shuab of west Socotra I had the most amazing backdrop and light and I got some amazing photographs of the Somali starling and the Egyptian vulture. This location was also brimming with sparrows, which I didn’t pay much attention to at first as I though they were ordinary house sparrows. Too late I realized my mistake, and thus this is the only reasonable photo I got of this species, as after Shuab I really didn’t see that many of them, at least not in any great setting. It seems it’s never too late to learn again, and again, that it’s better to take more photos in the field and later decide whether or not they are relevant.
