On the way from Porto Jofre, on the Transpantaneira, to SouthWild Pantanal I stopped several times to take a closer look at the flora and fauna. This is the first time I have seen this species, and I was in luck as the seemingly lone male that caught my attention was in fact a family. Here one of the fledgelings is begging for food.

Scarlet-headed Blackbird (Amblyramphus holosericeus)
One of the fledgelings by itself, waiting for more food that will in fact be provided less frequently in the coming days – until it will no longer be provided at all.

Scarlet-headed Blackbird (Amblyramphus holosericeus)
Typical begging posture by the fledgeling.
