Carrao river – Golondrina fall

One of the four spectacular water falls of the Carrao river by the Pemon village of Canaima. The deep rumbling sound of the water is heard from far away and the mist is carried high and far. If you are walking on the plain in the vincinity, you will not necessarily see the water falls directly, but you will certainly hear them and see the constant “cloud” hovering above.

The camera lens is bombarded with droplets from the falls – even though it’s rather far away and not even directly in front of the falls. It was quite difficult to get a “dry” shot in front of the falls, as the drizzle was dense and constant – despite a light breeze.
